2018 Perth Newlyweds
I never thought when I ventured out on my own in 2015 so many wonderful Perth and International Brides and Grooms would choose me as their wedding photographer. Having been in the Photography industry since leaving high school, owning my own business was a dream.
This is a huge shout out to each and everyone of you who allowed me into your lives in 2018.
2018 was a huge year.
So full of love and romance.
It was also tough.
By gees, for some of you, it was tough.
That message I received as I walked into my front door, to find out one of my brides mothers had passed weeks before her wedding, had me sobbing on my kitchen stool for my bride and it had me hugging her in tears as she said goodbye to her mum at the funeral. You know who you are, especially at this time of year my thoughts are with you. Photographing your wedding was the most hardest wedding for me to capture. I kept telling myself it was much harder for you. I think you know I love and adore you!
Another one of my couples lost their Step Father whilst honeymooning. My thoughts are also with you at this time of year. It was a shock to have her home early from her honeymoon however I was honoured to hand over her wedding day images early and honoured I got to capture some precious memories for their family.
To me my job isn’t just taking photos, clicking a button according to those who don’t place much value on photography. Its capturing the moments I know are going to mean so much more to you in the years and decades to come.
A Look Back at 2018
2018 bought so much happiness.
And some sadness.
Then their was wiping duck poo off my brides foot. Learning about the dead possum. Climbing hills to gorgeous photography locations. Opening that door to get the first glimpse of my brides. Holding back the tears at that first glimpse. Watching my grooms shed tears when the love of their life walks towards them. Laying in kangaroo poop. Climbing ladders. Climbing fences. Fluffing dresses. Watching grooms trying to fluff dresses. Broken bridesmaid zippers.
Lets not forget Groomsmen wearing G-stings. Seeing those Groomsmen’s butt cheeks. Handing over the scissors I carry. Editing. Helping with timelines. Helping with links to youtube on how to tie a tie. Learning to watch what I say and how I describe what I need you to do for the shot. Opening the door in my tracksuit! Tiona! Flying rings! Flying veils. Editing. Did I mention Editing? Editing out a billion uninvited wedding guests, flies! Hugging! Yes Hugging you all!
Most of all 2018 bought me you! Each and everyone of you, thank you for making my life that extra special for knowing you! Thank you for opening your hearts to me. Thank you for allowing me to capture the wedding day memories that I know are going to mean so much to you all as time go by.
May your First Christmas as Newlyweds be wonderful and memorable! And Happy New Year for 2019!
