Brookleigh Wedding
Lizzy and Romil’s wedding day saw the fusion of two cultures. Admittingly, in my 20 years as a wedding photographer in Perth, I have never captured a wedding day like Lizzy and Romil’s. It was Amazing!
With about 20 of their nearest and dearest and their furbaby, Lizzy and Romil’s Brookleigh Wedding Day was the most personal, intimate, relaxed, cultural and utterly loved up wedding day.
Each aspect of the Hindu ceremony was carefully explained to guests. From the removal of Lizzy’s shoes, giving of gifts by the bride’s mother, the fire ceremony, walking around the fire and the couples first steps.
It was an honour to witness a Hindu wedding ceremony and be truly in the moment. I may have been behind the lens listening to the ceremony and capturing all of the important aspects but it reinforced all the important aspects of love, relationships, respect and life.
As with all things western, these lovers needed a licensed marriage Celebrant to unite their love officially and legally according to Australian law.
The honours of this part of the day belonged to celebrant Liz Hayes.
Look out for the moment Liz steps in for her important role.
After the ceremony
With our lovers legally and spiritually united it was time to explore their favourite parts of the Brookleigh grounds before this husband and wife changed into their Formal Indian wedding attire to attend their home wedding reception.
Helping each other dress as the sun set and dusk set upon us we made the most of the last light of the day in the beautiful secret Gardens at Brookleigh Estate.
Hugest Congratulations Lizzy and Romil. It was such an honour to photograph your spiritual and loved up wedding day.
Wishing you both a lifetime of love and happiness – love your wedding photographer Simone
