Christ Church Claremont Wedding
Christ Church Ceremony and Zafferano Wedding Reception - 18th November 2018Loretta & Jorge
Loretta and Jorge (pronounced Hor-hey)
As weddings have changed over the last couple of decades and couple have shyed away from church weddings its always an honour for us when we get chosen to capture a church wedding, especially at Christ Church Claremont. We love a romantic traditional church ceremony.
Loretta found me via Easy Weddings. As a bride planning her wedding from interstate with her US born Groom, Loretta found it easy to see all kinds of vendors on the one platform. She flew into Perth and met with a few vendors and chose me as her wedding photographer to capture her wedding day memories.
Loretta opted for the package I have with wedding DJ/MC Groovy Entertainment. This means two vendors with over four combined decades of experience in weddings, with just one contract and one booking fee. This makes it easy for couples planning a destination wedding in Perth.
When I first met Loretta the one thing I noticed was her smile. The way her eyes lit up when talking about Jorge was incredible. You can see the sparkle in her eye’s on her wedding day and her beaming smile radiates love and happiness.
I got to meet Jorge the week before the wedding when the couple flew in to finish off last minute preparations and welcome guests and family from overseas who had made the trip to celebrate Loretta and Jorge’s love and marriage.
At the meeting I got an understanding that Loretta wanted loving romantic images and Jorge was looking for me to capture some fun filled images. Perfect as this is exactly what I aim to capture on your wedding day.
The Wedding Day
We spent a quick 40 mins at Loretta’s preparations where once again Cally from Luxe Bridal hair was crafting her amazing hair talented skills. I got to meet the face behind the Blushing Bride. Makeup artist, Jess. Her skills have graced many of my brides .
Loretta looked stunning. When I saw the wedding dress, it was just so the “Loretta” I had quickly got to know.
With a bit of Loretta’s preparations captured we then made out way to Christ Church Claremont.
We arrived to find our groom and his groomsmen pinning buttonholes on. After quickly capturing this moment we head to find Father Peter to say hello and let him know we knew the church rules for photography.
Some churches place no flash rules and set areas to photograph from. We are still able to capture all the important moments with stunning wedding photography.
Readings and affirmations were said, rings were exchanged, and hymns were sang and Loretta and Jorge made their way up the aisle and out of this beautiful church after celebrating their love, marriage and union before family and friends.
Everyone congratulated the couple and one little miss spotted the brides stunning florals by Sweet Floral Perth. Look out for this moment in the wedding photographs below.
Hyde Park for Wedding Photography with the Jacarandas
It was off to Hyde Park, Loretta’s favourite park, to find some Jacaranda’s for my bride and grooms wedding day photography. Jorge informed us of the great joy his family had seeing jacarandas for the first time in Perth. It was lovely to be able to photograph these lovers with such beautiful pieces of nature.
We did a quick stroll around Hyde Park to find a huge Morton bay fig tree. Along the way we stopped at a palm tree which reminded my groom of back home and California.
Wedding Reception Back at Zafferano’s restaurant.
Making our way back to Zafferano’s we took some time out to join up with the bridal party before the wedding reception for some photography on the jetty. Oh boy did Perth wind put on a show. Loretta’s veil was flying in the wind and we thought it would fly off. I think at one-point Jorge appears to be wearing the veil. With some great laughter had and images taken it was time for these lovers to enjoy their wedding reception and celebrate with family and friends.
After their entry we took a quick snap with the cake then left this husband and wife to enjoy their night.
Loretta and Jorge, thanks for the great honour to meet you both and your family and friends and capture this milestone day for you.
To Liz – thank you for your words of wisdom!
