Quarry Farm Summer Wedding
Summer Quarry Farm Wedding - 25th January 2019Alyce & Craig
The Australia day long weekend saw Quarry Farms first newlyweds for summer of 2019, tie the knot! It was a perfect summer wedding for bride Alyce and her groom Craig.
This couple from Merredin chose Quarry Farm for their wedding day, a venue which suited them perfectly.
Lead Up to the Wedding Day
It was an honour to be chosen as Alyce and Craig’s wedding photographer, without a meeting. Sometimes logistics of where my couples live make it a tad hard to have an initial consult pre-booking.
In the lesd up to the wedding, Alyce followed me on social media. I think she enjoyed seeing my Bride Melissa and Adams wedding commenting same venue, photographer, florist and preparation address. When I read my brides comments on my social media posts it makes me happy knowing how excited they are for their wedding day.
I did get to meet these lovers before the big day. They met me on a trip to Perth. Their relaxed happy nature suits my style to a tee. I knew we were in for a super chilled and fun day.
The Wedding day
Capturing preparations was a breeze. Craig and Alyce were both preparing for the wedding at Yarrabah retreat, just 5 mins from Quarry Farm. Without seeing each other! When couples get ready at the same place it means we can fit more photography time into your package as we spend less time driving.
The Grooms Preparations
I know I say this all the time, when I arrived the lads were super chilled! With many a can of “bush chook” in hand (emu export) they were just sitting about watching the cricket.
I had them gather their bits and bobs whilst I ducked into to say hello to my ladies.
Returning to the Groom and his Groomsmen we really did have a simple and relaxed time capturing a few wedding day preparations. Including the essential country lad items – RM Williams boots and the good old bush chook. Fitting for Craig as his nickname is “Chook.”
It was time to pop next door to Alyce.
The Bride Preparations
The Bride and her tribe were just as chilled as the Groom and his lads. Surrounded by her family and loved ones it was a breeze to capture some precious memories of our brides’ preparations.
Wedding preparations can sometimes be a bit hectic with so much going on and so many people in one place. Not these lovers’ preparations. Being in such a peaceful surrounding in such a big beautiful space combined with everyone’s relaxed calm personalities made my job a super easy.
Alyce was a picture of elegance in her dress with the stunning beading details. Our eyes squealed with delight at the floral bouquet from Edie and Ivy Flowers to add a pop of colour. Add Alyce’s smile and laughter and we had some stunning bridal aura.
It was time for me to leave Alyce and head to await her arrival at Quarry Farm.
The couple chose the shearing shed for their beautiful ceremony officiated by Leanne Meldrum, who knew the couple well.
It was great to see Leanne again and work with her. It was a reminder of how lovely and personal her ceremonies really are.
I should know that my most relaxed chilled couples are the one who surprise us all with tears.
The moment Craig saw his bride, also saw tears of joy. Those emotions soon turned to laughter with Alyce by his side. Until it was time for the wedding vows. Check the photos out everyone. These two are so in love with each other! It’s beautiful to see. Moments I very so love capturing. Tears, laughter, love and support.
Fun loving bride Alyce had a surprise for all. Including her groom. Queue the Kiss, queue loud explosions from Petal Poppers. Silence turned to laughter and we nailed the shot! Happy days!
With the paperwork signed, guests kissed, hugged, laughed with and congratulated these happy lovers. We captured all these moments in their happy glory. Watching people’s happiness as they greet the newly weds is one of my favourite parts of photographing a wedding. These are the real, raw as it happens moments.
Craig and Alyce had just one request, photos with Quarry Farms Bella, the cow. They braved her home and head in to feed her and give her a pat. Look out for the image of Bella trying to taste test Bride Alyce and be included in a kiss photo.
We captured all the important family photographs then headed off with the bride and groom and the bridal party to explore the farm and shed.
The Kangaroos were out and about in abundance. One Skippy was happy to oblige us and jump into the laneway for a photo whilst another entertained Alyce and Craig while we were trying to do some romantic images in the shearing shed. I love the Happiness in those images.
It was time for these newlyweds to enter their wedding reception and begin the evenings celebrations.
I did whisk them out for sunset images before kissing them goodbye after spending 6 wonderful hours with them.
Wedding photography brings me so much happiness capturing your happy moments throughout the day.
I believe every time I leave a wedding I have learnt something about life and relationships. You all bring a little something to my life and make my life a bit happier for knowing you.
Alyce and Craig, I hope your future brings you so much happiness and the happiness you radiate comes back tenfold to your lives.
Keep up those unexpected surprises! (like the petal poppers)
Love always – your wedding photographer xxx
