The lead up
When you know, you know!
These young lovers knew the moment they locked eyes on each other they were destined to be together. Just a week or so after meeting each other, James was heading over to Ibiza, Bride Michaela wore her heart on her sleeve, packed her bag and headed of to Ibiza.
Their original wedding date was 18th April 2020, and then you know what happened!
That dreaded C word popped up and couples were forced to postpone their wedding days!
I would love to say that these lovers had me locked in from the very beginning, but they didn’t! Just weeks out from their wedding date their original wedding photographer kind of fell of the face of the universe.
I remember seeing bride Michaela’s shout out for help to find a new wedding photographer on the Facebook wedding pages. I wondered if I should comment about being available, just weeks before I had a couple cancel their wedding, however decided not to as her post blew up. Michaela would’ve been inundated with messages. It becomes very overwhelming.
Moments later I received an Email from Michaela, somehow, she had landed on my website.
I Decided to pick the phone up and give her a call.
Michaela and James came in to meet me and I was so thrilled that out of all those posts on Facebook these young lovers found and chose me! With excitement of a couple choosing you as their wedding photographer, also comes great responsibility! I had to make sure these lovers had all their best memories of their wedding day photographed perfectly!
Sandalford Wines Wedding, here we come!
Arriving at James Preparations I was greeted by Groomsman Joe wielding a needle and thread asking me if I could sew.
He had spilt the leg on his pants.
Lucky for Joe, yes, I can sew, my grandmother was a dressmaker! I spent many days in her sewing room. Rest easy that if you give me a needle and thread I can help!
With a crisis averted, the Groom and Groomsmen fully dressed, a proud dad, the lads celebrated with a drink. Look out for the little caricature that made an appearance. With moments captured of the three loves of Michaela’s life, James and her two fur babies, it was time to head to our bride.
Bride Michaela and her ladies were over at the Sebel at the Vines preparing for the day. Michaela met me with the hugest smile, her happiness absolutely shone!
I quickly set about documenting our brides stunning wedding dress from Maison Signore, all the way from New York. The intricate lace detail was delicately gorgeous. Stunning soft pinks and whites adorned Michaela’s delicate bouquet by the Little Lilac Co matching Michaela’s dress perfectly.
These ladies decided to forgo the champagne and get straight into the shots. Mother of the bride, Irene (also a marriage celebrant), had never had a shot! Her reaction was priceless and a memory this mother and daughter will have forever.
With confetti poppers popped, our bride was ready to step into her wedding dress and add the finishing touches to her wedding day look.
Queue the moment her soon to be sister-in-law sees her for the first time and the moment Father of the bride sees his daughter for the first time. A hug and embrace and then another moment of laughter shared when this dad accidentally pulls the veil from Michaela’s hair. These are the real moments! We love photographing moments with your dads and loved ones as we know how much these seconds will mean to you in the years to come.
With our beautiful brides’ preparations photographed its Sandalford Wines Wedding ceremony time!
Wedding Ceremony at Sandalford Wines
Michaela and James don’t do things by halves.
With Michaela’s love of horses and having competed in Equestrian events Michaela made her grand entry in a gorgeous horse drawn carriage from Perth Horse and Carriage – Golden Sunset Tours. The couples first huge wow moment on their wedding day.
Kimberley from KM Celebrations was the couples chosen celebrant for their wedding ceremony.
Waiting at the end of the aisle Groom James looked admiringly at his bride as she walked towards him.
The wedding ceremony was full of love, laughter, and tears from a proud sister of the groom. Vows, rings, and a kiss were exchanged in front of the couples nearest and dearest.
Arm in arm, the joy on everyone’s faces was evident, as Michaela and James made their way back up the aisle as husband and wife.
Wedding Photographs at Sandalford Wines
This bride and groom had to steal a moment with those beautiful horses. One of which took a liking to the stunning blooms and decided to attempt a taste test.
Next on the must have list were wedding photographs with the stunning limo from Thirties Limousines.
I am one of those wedding photographers who will happily document all your must haves! If you want photos with anything you just need to ask.
We headed into the reception to document a few moments of the styling and beautiful wedding cake make by Katie at Bridal Select Cakes before heading off around Sandalford Wines for wedding photographs.
Sandalford Wines Wedding Reception
This bride and groom had an amazing surprise for their wedding guests on the entry to their wedding reception.
You must see the photographs from this spectacular moment. Michaela and James had been attending dance lesson from Chase Dance! The most famous dance of all time from the movie “Dirty Dancing”. Would Michaela and James pull off that dramatic lift? Of course, they did! These lovers do not do anything by halves. As James lifted Michaela, the Sparkulars from Dream Wedding Entertainment added the ambience, guests all cheered and roared.
This set the tone for the rest of an amazing wedding celebration.
Guests lit the dance floor up before the meals, happiness and laughter was all around.
I must mention the moment the Best Man and groomsmen surprised or stirred James, an Avid Hawthorn supporter with a little itsy bitsy Eagles Jumper for any future little babies. This moment was hilarious!
With that fabulous wedding cake cut, some moments of the lads being lads outside captured and a full dancefloor photographed it was time to kiss these lovers’ goodnight and let them party!
Hugest congratulations once again Michaela and James.
What an honour it was to photograph your love and marriage and witness your two big smiles! Keep smiling.
