Stormy Quarry Farm Wedding

Stormy Quarry Farm Wedding - 14th April 2019

Hayley & Blake

Stormy Quarry Farm Wedding is the best way I could describe the amazing clouds that Mother Nature presented at sunset for Hayley and Blake’s Wedding day. The weather wasn’t stormy as such however these young lovers were bless for a lifetime with it raining on their wedding day, if you believe in old sayings.

Quarry Farm is just south of Perth and is an amazing wedding venue for its location at the base of the Darling Range, stunning sunset views, landscapes and its run by an amazing venue manager, Susanne and her wonderful helpful team. As a Perth Wedding Photographer, its no secret, I love this venue and the couples who choose me to document their day here.

The Wedding Day

Oh was it amazing! Rain and all!

I’ve said it before your vibe attracts your tribe!

I am pretty cruisey relaxed and laid back, yet professional to unobtrusively capture your wedding day and all its amazing moments, bringing you that chilled vibe you are looking for on your wedding day.

As I made the journey to Serpentine where my beautiful Bride and her tribe were preparing for the day ahead – Mother Nature blessed the day. My mind starts to picture ways of capturing the day whilst keeping my bride and groom relatively dry. If it ever rains on your wedding day you will learn I have no issue getting rained on for you.

The Brides Preparations

The location for Hayley’s preparations was Serpentine Falls Holiday Park. It’s location is just 10 minutes south on the South Western Highway from Quarry Farm. This location allowed Hayley and Blake’s family to all stay together in the lead up to the wedding day. It also means couples are close by to the farm to add the last minute touches to their wedding day.

Well here I go again because all of my couples are so chilled, I arrived to find a totally chilled bride and her tribe. Hayley was singing and dancing with hair and makeup done. The ladies all looked amazing! beauty on the outside to match their beauty on the inside. OMG what a lovely bunch of women to be around for the day.

I set to work capturing all the details. Hayley’s wedding dress was an OMG speechless moment. It was the lightest softest wedding dress I have ever seen and boy was it beautiful. I knew Hayley was going to be so comfortable all day on the farm whilst looking on point!

We laughed so much while the ladies helped dress Hayley.

What happened next was a moment I will never forget. While capturing bridal portraits a lady appeared in the door way. She looked at Hayley, Hayley had no idea she was standing there. I captured the most amazing moment between sisters! You have to find these photos in the blog. As things unfold on your wedding day I often have no idea who is who until the moment has passed and I’ve captured it. This was one moment I’m so glad to have witnessed and captured.

With happiness, happy tears and the most beautiful wedding bouquets captured it was time to leave our Hayley and head to Quarry Farm.

The Wedding Ceremony Location

Hayley and Blake chose the Shearing Shed at Quarry Farm for their wedding ceremony. When I arrived there was some light drizzle around.

I found the lads in the Shearing Shed, chilled as. What would one expect after arriving to your wedding in an EH Holden. Here’s a bit of useless information about me, my first car was an EH Holden! So if you see me squeal with delight around one, you know why.

Just as it was time for Hayley’s arrival, Mother Nature let out more rain from above. We had Hayley wait it out a little in the car with her dad and as the band of rain quickly passed, Hayley made her way to the shearing shed to walk towards the love her life. They had waited for over a decade for this moment.

Look out for the two little cuties, the couples children, and Blake lovingly embracing them both whilst his eyes are set on his first glimpse of his soon to be wife. Sometimes couples spend over a decade together before deciding to make it all official in front of loved ones. Seeing Blake’s love for Hayley was heart warming and I’m so privileged to have been the wedding photographer to capture it all. From the happy emotional tears to the uncontrollable laughter, to the stolen secret whispers during the ceremony, it was beautiful.

Look out for the moment the couples loved ones make a vow to Hayley and Blake.

Before we headed off with the bridal party it was super important to capture some memories with Hayley and Blake’s children. Look out for the little flower girl bringing dad one of his favourite things? We love the playful banter between Blake and his son.

The bridal party were driven in style via Ford and Holden up to Quarry Farms sheds on the hill. Here we captured the iconic cars, so much laughter and some magic via a veil toss in the shed. We love these dark moody natural images. Look out for a behind the scenes image of a bridesmaid doing a first class job at the veil toss. How beautiful are these images!

A hand in hand walk was in order with celebration drinks in hand and these lovers smiles show how happy they are to finally be husband and wife. A little love and romance and a moment taken in The Iconic Jacaranda Laneway and these lovers headed out into the fields for a wander.

Mother Nature was kind and although she blessed Hayley and Blake during the day with rain from above she calmed for the couples bridal party session but blessed us with the most amazing cloud cover. We had fun in the fields and then it was time to head back to let these lovers party.

Time to Party!

Once again this couple opted for one of the packages offered with Gavin from Groovy Entertainment. As the couples Wedding DJ/MC, Gavin was ready to get the reception started. You can see our packages here.

Not all couples want a wedding photographer to stay all night. Some of the packages we offer will cover your entrance, cake cut and a quick night image. Hayley and Blake chose this option.

They entered their wedding reception, cut the beautiful wedding cake then we whisked them outside for an image with the giant love letters. I asked Blake if he could dip Hayley for a kiss. After a quick demonstration Hayley and Blake nailed it! OMG amazing. It was here I hugged and kissed my beautiful bride and groom and wished them goodnight and left them to party!

I would say 99.9% of my couples tell me they aren’t photo people, need guidance on the day or they want a casual candid feel to their wedding photography.

Hayley and Blake’s wedding day gallery is all that and more. I tell all of my couples as long as you are comfortable with each other that’s all I need.

Thanks lovers for choosing and trusting me to be your wedding photographer! It was a thrill to watch you both “finally” get married through my camera lens and document your day for you. What a perfect “Stormy Quarry Farm Wedding” it was!

Hugest congratulations and much love for your future.

Love your Perth Wedding Photographer xx
