The Barn Hopeland Wedding
The Barn Hopeland - 24th November 2018Melissa & Angus
This young couple were recommended to contact me about wedding photography for their wedding by Ben and Carmen who own The Barn Hopeland. Its always lovely to have couples come through via a recommendation from a wedding venue.
The Barn Hopeland is the perfect venue for those couples planning a relaxed chilled wedding day and like to be a bit hands on. You can bring caters in. My couples have opted for options like roasts or pizza. This venue allows you to really plan youe day your way.
Melissa and Gus opted for a 4-hour package to allow coverage for the parts of the day that were important to them. The wedding ceremony, family photos, bridal party photos and a few quick night images. Not all brides and grooms want us, or need us, to follow them all day long with a camera. We will capture the parts that are important to you.
The Wedding Day
We love driving from Cockburn to The Barn Hopeland for weddings.
It’s like we are going on a vacation. As we head south the sun is shining and it’s a beautiful day for a wedding.
We arrive to find groom Gus as relaxed as ever with his lads. Maggie Panaia is also there setting up for her ceremony. It is the first time I have worked with Maggie however it felt like I had known her forever! No wonder so many couples choose her for their marriages.
Guests soon all begin to arrive to await bride Melissa’s arrival.
The first glimpse I got of our Bride was when Maggie and I waited her arrival away from the guest’s eyes. As Melissa exited the car oh my did she look beautiful. Melissa has the most stunning eyes! Soon Gus would be staring into them saying his vows.
Not all couples want long ceremonies. This isn’t because they want a short ceremony, for some couples it’s a bit overwhelming standing in front of so many people for so long.
We knew we had to click our shutters to capture it all.
The moment Melissa walked down the aisle Gus’s smile beamed.
Maggie Panaia had some lovely words to say about the couple, then it was time for the vows. A quick joke was had from our Groom, which may or may not have impressed his bride, it did have family and friends laughing. With the vows exchanged and rings placed lovingly on each other’s hands these lovers had the quickest kiss I have ever seen in the history of me shooting weddings. We did capture it!
The paperwork was signed, and Melissa danced up the aisle as Gus’s wife!
We captured all the important images for this couple with their families.
For some couple’s family photos play a significant sentimental part.
My brides often ask if it is okay if I just get a photo with “inset name” and of course it is! It’s what I’m here for. To capture anything you need.
Just remember this is the one day that all these people will be here together in one location because they love you. As life has it you may never all be in the same place. Life takes everyone in different directions. I will happily photograph whatever memory you need captured.
It was time to headed off around The Barn Hopeland for a quick Bridal party session.
We had some flying pink Galahs as our coupled walked up a laneway. We had fun with the bridal party! The lads wanted to hold the stunning bouquets by Edie and Ivy Flowers however there weren’t enough to go around. One poor groomsmen was left holding a weed!
With some memories captured our bride and groom mingled for a little while before heading in to the wedding reception.
Melissa wanted a couple of night images however with the sun setting so late and night not falling until quite some time later we whisked her out for a dusk image. It was still dark enough for the ambience of the festoons and to give a bit of mood to the images.
PS Check out Melissa’s cute shoes!
Once again, another couple have their happily ever after. November 24th 2018 was a perfect day down at The Barn Hopeland for Melissa and Gus to finally become husband and wife.
Thanks for choosing us to capture your love and marriage we wish you all the happiness for your journey through life together.
